 Hello Book Nerds!

My name is Amanda 

When i was eight years old my elementary school was offered the opportunity to have us students personalize a Peter Rabbit and Me book for National Read Across America Day. Instantly i became intrigued with the idea of having my name incorporated in a book in which i already owned at the time. This opportunity led me to my love of books and appreciation for reading. At the time i had no knowledge of the fact that this moment in my early life was foreshadowing what i would choose as a career path in the future. However, incorporating my childhood best friend, father and favorite English teacher at the time in the Peter Rabbit and Me book, only helped develop my curiosity of books. Unlike the other children in my class, I wondered about how the books were structured. I asked questions, like " Whats an Author? What happens if the books aren't written correctly and have misspelled words? or Who takes the books to the bookstore? Little questions like those only lead to bigger questions that would soon help me declare a college major  as well as determine what career path i wanted to pursue. When college came i knew that i wanted to work for a book publishing company that would help me gain enough experience in order for me to achieve my dream of starting my own self-publishing company.
